QSO Celebrates Black History Month

FREE ADMISSIONJoin the Queens Symphony Orchestra as we celebrate Black History Month and commemorate the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Make Gentle the Life of this World by Raymond Horton features the speech by Senator Robert Kennedy on the night of Mr. King’s assassination. This performance marks the New York Premiere of this poignant work. Cellist Sujari Britt, an emerging young talent will join us playing the Elgar Cello Concerto. Works by two African-American composers will be performed, including Darker America, by Grant Still and Castle House Rag by Reese Europe.
Come and join us as we pay tribute to one of the most influential leaders of our time. We look forward to seeing you there!
